Hepatic artery aneurysm: rare cause of epigastralgia and melena.

A 67-year-old woman presented to the emergency department with epigastric pain and tarry stool of several days’ duration. She presented with normal vital signs and mild epigastric tenderness. Laboratory results revealed mildly decreased haemoglobin (107 g/L), elevation in alanine transferase (206 U/L) and total bilirubin level (1.8 mg/dL). Abdominal ultrasonography revealed a left hepatic lobe cystic lesion (5 cm) with diffuse biliary tract dilatation.
