Congenital cataract: Management and visual results

The paper describes fully the irrigation-aspiration method with posterior capsulotomy, used in Athens University Eye Clinic and in the First Eye Clinic of the Evangelismos Hospital of Athens, for congenital cataract surgery. The chief steps of the operation and the opening of the posterior lens capsule are described. Functional and anatomical results obtained in the 90 eyes operated on are discussed.
