Endolysosomal protease susceptibility of Amb a 1 as a determinant of allergenicity

summary In the absence of extrinsic adjuvants, purified Amb a 1 induced a strong Th2-polarized immune response in mice. This high allergenic activity seems to be linked to the allergen's susceptibility to endolysosomal proteolysis.
