Family Behavior of the Pressure and Temperature Dependences of the Band Gap of Semiconducting Carbon Nanotubes

Our recent work on pressure and temperature effects on the band gap of semiconducting carbon nanotubes is discussed. The family behavior in both phenomena is elucidated in terms of the structural dependent orientation of the bonding and antibonding characters of the band edge states.
