Electrode oxygen consumption and process for making

2011
Electrode oxygen consumption multilayer for the reduction of oxygen in aqueous alkaline media, having at least one support, which is in particular electrically conductive, a layer containing a catalyst and a hydrophobic layer, wherein the electrode containing gas oxygen and a side facing the alkaline electrolyte, wherein the electrode has at least two distinct layers comprising the catalyst, having different content catalyst and wherein the outermost layer, directed off gas, has a ratio lower catalyst outermost layer facing the electrolyte side and the proportion of hydrophobic material in the hydrophobic layer is at most 8% by weight and that the hydrophobic layer is the layer with a ratio of catalyst lower, which is directed gas side.
