Three-dimensional confomal radiation therapy for colrextal cancer patients with local recurrence or metastasis after operation and radiotherapy

Objective: To evaluate the effet and safety of three dimension conformal radiation therapy (30CRT) on the local recurrence or metastasis in colorectal carcinoma which have received operation and radiotherapy. Methods:Twenty-six patients with local recurrence or metastasis of colorectal cancer were treated by 3DCRT, total dose 42Gy~48Gy,3Gy~4.5Gy/f ,five time/day/week. Results:CR19.23%(5/26),PR 53.84%(14/26), PD15.37%(4/26) .1,2,3 year survival rates were 80.75%,53.84%,15.37%.the main side effects were abdomenal pain and diarrhea.Conclusion:3-DCRT is able to prolong the survival and improve the life quality of the patients with local recurrence or metastasis in colerectal cancer and the treatment is safe.
