Neurological Aspects of Selective Embolization of Cerebral Arteriovenous Malformations
1987
The effect of superselective endovascular embolization on the natural history of cerebral arteriovenous malformations (AVM) is largely un-known. Decision-making regarding this therapy is very difficult: the risk of embolization procedures (iatrogenic complications) and the therapeutic effect must be evaluated and weighted against the natural history of the AVM, including the mortality and morbidity of the disease.
