Photoelectrocatalytic activity PbO2 loaded highly oriented TiO2 nanotubes arrays

2020
Abstract PbO2 loaded TiO2 nanotubes electrode were prepared using electrodeposition and investigated its photoelectrocatalytic activity at the oxidation of aspirin. It indicated that the Ti/TiO2 NTs/PbO2 electrode had high photoelectrocatalytic activity. The results showed that the removal efficiency of aspirin could be reached up to 65% after 2 h photoelectrolysis at Na2SO4 concentration of 0.1 mol·l−1, aspirin initial concentration of 2 g·l−1, the current density of 0.3 A/cm2, electrode spacing of 1 cm. The reaction mechanism of Ti/TiO2 NTs/PbO2 electrodes photoelectrocatalytic oxidation aspirin mainly caused by the OH· radical attacking aspirin molecules with the generation of small linear organic compounds.
