Compare the diagnostic value of biomarkers tested by SELDI- TOF mass spectrometry and TnI fir acute myocardial infarction

2005
Objective The purpose of this research is to compare the diagnostic value of Biomarkers tested by SEL-DI- TOF Mass Spectrometry and TnI for acute myocardial infarction. Methods Fouty- five patients with AMI, who hadchest pain within 2 hours and a negative TnI, were defined as the early stage AMI( group A1) ; and 45 healthy volun-teers were tested by IMC3 chip and protein chip reader of ciphergen Inc. Results 1) There were two AMI biomarkers,of which 1 was up- regulated and the other down- regulated, identified in serum samples from patients of A1. 2) Thespecificity and sensitivity of SELDI- TOF mass spectrometry were high. Conclusion The early AMI can be diagnosedby this procedure with high sensitivity and specificity. The diagnostic value of this method is better than that of TnI.
