Associação entre qualidade de vida, bem-estar subjetivo e adesão ao tratamento de pessoas vivendo com HIV/AIDS

2020
OBJECTIVE: To investigate the association between the phenomenon of quality of life (QOL), subjective well-being (SWB), antiretroviral therapy (ART) and their repercussion on people living with HIV/AIDS (PLHA). METHODS: Exploratory and descriptive study in a reference hospital in treatment of PLHAs, in Manaus/AM. Data collection took place from October 2018 to January 2019, when 50 patients between 20 and 50 years of both genders were investigated. The participants answered the sociodemographic questionnaire, followed by the World Health Organization's quality of life instruments (WHOQOL-HIV-Bref), by the use of the Cuestionario para la Evaluacion de la Adhesion al Tratamiento Antiretroviral (CEAT-VIH) and the Subjective Welfare Scale (EBES). Pearson correlation and linear regression analysis were performed using as criterion p<0.05. RESULTS: The results indicated weak to moderate correlations between subjective well-being and various domains of quality of life. In addition, linear regression analysis indicated that quality of life related to the physical domain is a good predictor for treatment adherence. CONCLUSIONS: There is a relationship between subjective well-being and quality of life (BES). BES may contribute to treatment adherence, and such entanglement impacts the lives of PLWHAs.
