Effect of SnO addition on structure and properties of P2O5-SnF2-WO3-B2O3 glasses for low temperature sealing

Phosphate-tinfluoride-tungsten-boron oxide (P2O5-SnF2-WO3-B2O3, PSWB) glasses were prepared for low temperature sealant materials using the conventional melt quenching technology. In these glasses SnF2 was partially replaced with SnO. The effect of SnO concentration on glass structure and properties were investigated. Full characterizations have been carried out by XRD, TEC, SEM, DSC, as well as FTIR. As revealed from glass density and electrical resistance, the parameters incr ease almost linearly with the addition of SnO.
