Study on effect of gestational physical activities on delivery modes

Objective: To explore the effect of gestational physical activities on delivery modes.Methods: The pregnant women during the second trimester of pregnancy were recruited and followed up until delivery.Before delivery,the study objects were divided into four groups according to the indication of steps-teller,the differences of vaginal delivery rates and cesarean section rates in the four groups were analyzed.Results: Among 866 pregnant women,596 pregnant women gave birth to their babies via cesarean section,the rate of cesarean section was 68.8%,and the rate of selective cesarean section was 51.4%.As far as average physical activities during the second and the third trimesters of pregnancy,the risk ratios of cesarean section in low-active group,relative-active group and active group were 0.60,0.30 and 0.23 times more than that in sit-downstrike group,and the risk ratios of selective cesarean section in low-active group,relative-active group and active group were 0.57,0.32 and 0.20 times more than that in sit-downstrike group.Conclusion: The study indicates that cesarean section rate or selective cesarean section rate in pregnant women having active physical activities decreases.
