Highly efficient and intense terahertz source based on lithium niobate pumped by sub-millijoule ytterbium laser

We have developed a unique THz source combining an average power of 53 mW and maximal field strength of 310 kV/cm. This source is based on lithium niobate crystal pumped by an industrial sub-mJ Ytterbium laser, coupled with an innovative pulse compression technique. Well balanced and highly scalable, this system contributes to democratizing the accessibility of intense and powerful THz pulses.
