Objective: To know if the study realized in the original article is elaborated with a consistent methodological quality as to constitute a strong evidence. Methods: Critical review of an original article following some guidelines recommended by the magazine Evidentia. Results: The results propose that the use of simple phototherapy with reflective curtains is as effective for the treatment of severe neonatal hyperbilirubinaemia as treatment with double phototherapy. Several randomised controlled trials have demonstrated the greater efficacy of phototherapy by adding curtains that reflect light around the cot. Conclusions: This article adds important information on having quantified until point there can be effective the white curtains added to the conventional phototherapy since it equals the effectiveness to the double phototherapy. Level of evidence: "HIGH", according to the GRADE scale.
