[Mali: Demographic and Health Survey 2006]

The 2006 Mali Demographic and Health Survey (DHS-IV) is the fourth in a series conducted by The Planning and Statistics from the Ministry of Health collaboration with the Direction Nationale de la Statistics and Information of the Ministry of Planning and Development and the Institute National de Recherche en Sante Publique. The primary purpose of the survey is to furnish policymakers and planners with detailed information on fertility; family planning; infant child adult and maternal mortality; maternal and child health; nutrition; and knowledge of HIV/AIDS and other sexually transmitted infections. This is a retrospective investigation during which 12998 households 14583 women aged 15-49 and 4207 men of 15-59 years were surveyed. The Data collection took place from May to December 2006.
