AML in Children: The Medical Research Council Data

2001
The United Kingdom Medical research Council’s 10th Acute Myeloid Leukaemia trial for children (AML 10) was opened in May 1988 and by March 1995, 364 children aged less than 15 years had been entered from 41 centres in the UK, Republic of Ireland, and New Zealand. In addition to patients with de novo AML, those with AML secondary to previous myelodysplasia (mds-AML) or to previous therapy for other diseases (s-AML) and those with aggressive myelodysplastic syndrome (RAEB-t) were also eligible. Five patients were excluded due to misdiagnosis: three with ALL, one with lymphoma and one with histiocytosis.
