EFFCACY OF ENBD AND ERBD IN THE PREVENTION OF POST-ERCP COMPLICATIONS IN PATIENTS WITH COMMON DUCT STONES

Objective To compare the effectiveness of ENBD and ERBD in the prevention of post-ERCP complications in patients with common bile duct stones.Methods This study consisted of 263 patients with common duct stones,who were randomized to groups A(ENBD group,n=88),group B(ERBD group,n=86),and group C(routine drug treatment group,n=89).The incidence of post-ERCP pancreatitis,hyperamylasemia and biliary tract infection was recorded and compared among the three groups.Results The incidence of post-ERCP pancreatitis in groups A,B and C was 1.1%,1.2% and 11.2%,that of hyperamylasemia was 8.0%,9.3%and 22.5%;and that of biliary tract infection was 1.1%,1.2%and 9.0%,respectively.The differences of above-mentioned three complications between groups A/B and C was significant(χ2=5.491-7.744,P0.05).No perforation,hemorrhage or death was noted in the three groups.Conclusion ENBD and ERBD show similar effect on reducing the occurrence of post-ERCP complications in patients with common bile duct stones.
