Protocolo diagnóstico de la eosinofilia

espanolResumen La eosinofilia es un aumento en el numero normal de celulas eosinofilas en sangre periferica que puede ser expresion de multiples enfermedades, principalmente infecciones, procesos alergicos o neoplasias. Por tanto, el diagnostico diferencial que debemos establecer es amplio e incluye, en primer lugar, valorar si existe urgencia en relacion con la afectacion de organos y, en segundo lugar, intentar establecer un diagnostico etiologico. En este protocolo estableceremos cuales son los signos de alerta que deben hacer ingresar al paciente y completar el estudio de forma hospitalaria, y tambien el algoritmo de actuacion en el diagnostico diferencial de estos pacientes. EnglishEosinophilia consists of an increase in the usual number of eosinophils present in peripheral blood, which could likely be the clinical manifestation of various diseases, including infections, allergic processes and malignancies. Therefore, the differential diagnosis for this condition is broad and includes assessing whether there is an urgency arising from organ damage and then attempting to reach an aetiological diagnosis. In this protocol, we will describe the warning signs that should prompt a patient's hospital admission and the conduct of relevant screening studies on an in-patient basis, as well as the algorithm to be followed to reach a differential diagnosis in these patients.
