Effect of High Angle Images Presented on a Portable Display

2010
The purpose of this study is to investigate the effect of high angle images presented on a portable display. Nowadays, the development of display technology has changed the way people use display devices. By using the new display devices which are portable and lightweight, we are able to watch TV, movies or access the internet anywhere, anytime instead of being at the same place. Since we observed that the portable displays are mostly viewed from a lower line-of-sight than general displays, we would like to examine how people perceive images taken from different viewpoints presented on a portable display. At first, we want to establish the difference between “line-of-sight” and “viewpoint”, so we will take images by a fixed camera position shot and a fixed lens direction shot. Moreover, the images of each shot will be taken from high angle of 0~90 degrees below the horizontal line. In the experiment, we will let the viewers see these images on a portable display and measure their sensibility of the seeing by using the Semantic Differential Method. Finally, we will expect to find out an effective viewpoint angle and a proper subject that could be used to make an interesting content for a potable display
