Generic fault detection technology about PCI-bus equipment

There are lots of failures of PCI-bus equipments.This paper presented a method to detect PCI-bus equipment failures through analyzing read and write operation of PCI-bus equipments,using the characteristics of device configuration registers on PCI bus,and the data validation and address validation and other features in communication process.It is verified that the method is feasible through the communication test of the fault PCI card.This method is general and scalable to standard PCI-bus equipments.
