Endoscopic Carpal Tunnel Release

Carpal tunnel syndrome is a common condition causing hand pain, numbness, and disability. Release of the transverse carpal ligament is the most commonly performed upper extremity procedure. This chapter focuses on the endoscopic (minimally invasive) technique to accomplish this. Current outcomes data are reviewed as well as relevant anatomic points of interest. Pearls and Pitfalls of the technical aspects of the procedure are discussed in detail to assist surgeons in the safe and effective performance of this procedure.
