HUBUNGAN ANTARA PROFIL LIPID SERUM DENGAN DISABILITAS PADA PASIEN OSTEOARTRITIS DI POLIKLINIK REUMATOLOGI PENYAKIT DALAM RSUP DR. MOHAMMAD HOESIN PALEMBANG

2020
Introduction: OA patients usually complain of pain when doing activities or get a load on the affected joint. More severe degree of pain can be felt constantly so greatly disturb the patient's mobility. It is estimated that 1 to 2 million elderly people in Indonesia suffer from disabilities due to OA. It has been proven that hypercholesterolemia is associated with OA without being tied to obesity. Therefore this study aims to determine the relationship between serum lipid profile with disability in osteoarthritis patients. Method: Research was done by a descriptive observational study with a cross-sectional research design. Subject in this research was osteoarthritis patients undergoing treatment in Poliklinik Reumatologi Penyakit Dalam RSUP Dr. Mohammad Hoesin Palembang period August to November 2019 which fulfills the inclusion and exclusion criteria. Respondents are collected using total sampling technique by conducting interviews using a questionnaire. Result: Total cholesterol has a significant relationship with disability based on WOMAC score (p = 0.004), LDL has a significant relationship with disability based on WOMAC score (p = 0.014), HDL does not have a significant relationship with disability based on WOMAC score (p = 0.772), and triglyceride did not have a significant relationship with disability based on WOMAC score (p = 0.998) Conclusion: OA patients with total cholesterol and higher LDL have a significant relationship with levels of disability while HDL and triglycerides have no significant relationship with levels of disability.
