Tubularized incised plate urethroplasty for hypospadias repair(Report of 56 cases)

Objectives To evaluate the clinical value of hypospadias treatment with Tubularized incised plate procedure. Methods The total of 56 hypospadias patients(adult,3 cases;children,53 cases) ,who underwent hypospadias surgery with Tubularized incised plate (TIP)procedure from July 2005 to September 2009, were retrospectively analyzed and summerized. Results Of 56 patients,8 patients with urethrocutaneal fistula, 13 patients with stricture of urethra meatus, none patients with chordee of penis were found after operation. Conclusions For patients with better condition of urethra and penis,TIP procedure was a better choice in hypospadias surgery. TIP is easy to master with high success rate. TIP is a very effective treatment for hypospadias repair. Key words: Hypospadias;  Urethra
