Robust Control of Synchronous Generator Based on MIMO Nonlinear DAE System Model

For synchronous generator within multi-machine power system described by MIMO nonlinear Differential Algebraic Equations (DAE) system model, the robust control problem is considered in this paper. The controller design process can be divided into two steps: In the first step, nonlinear DAE system model is equivalently transformed by a coordinate transformation and a feedback control. In the second step, a robust controller is constructed through backstepping method based on the equivalent model, which makes the whole closed-loop system uniformly ultimately bounded (UUB). Finally, the synchronous generator excitation and valve control is studied, and the simulation results illustrate the utility of the method proposed in this paper.
