The Study of Running Stability of Piggyback Car Based on a FE-Rigid Coupled Model

2019
The piggyback car not only had the flexible and convenient characteristics of highway transportation, but also had the advantage of railway transportation, such as the capacity, safety and reliability of heavy haul transportation. “Truck on car” was a transportation mode, the truck mass has been simply assumed to be the increment of car body mass so far, but recent study on actual railway carbody experiment reveals that the truck mass cannot be assumed as the mere increment in carbody mass, for it was a kind of dynamics affecting carbody vibration. In this study, two type models are carried out to present the investigation into the influence of the truck on car for the random response of the system. The PRAP was effectively applied to simplify the calculation, in which 6 points of the system were chosen as estimation locations, significant difference random response was found between the two model on the direction of lateral, it also could be noticed that the stability index of carbody depends on the truck on carbody dynamics clearly. The stability index of coupled model was 19% more than the other one on the lateral. The coupling vehicle random vibration simulation method could be used for accurate calculation of the further improvement of the structure, it can provide a new thinking for stationarity evaluation of this type freight car.
