The present invention relates to a temporary locking device for a slide (4) seat formed by a lower rail (5) intended to be fixed on the floor of a vehicle, and an upper rail (6) secured to said seat and mounted to slide along a guide groove of said lower rail (5) between two front and rear stops; characterized in that it comprises a removable wedge (10) having a body and a latching member, said wedge (10) being adapted, when a first longitudinal end of said upper rail (6) is attached against a so-called predetermined stop adopt an operating configuration in which said latching member cooperates with an orifice of said lower rail (5) for temporary retention of said shim (10) on said lower rail (5), and wherein said body is at least partially contained in said guide groove of said lower rail (5), the dimensioning of said body being predetermined so that in said working configuration, one of its longitudinal ends is attached against the second longitudinal end of said upper rail (6 ).
