2018
Healthcare information systems (HIS) are the high-tech computerised hospital systems, which are continuously used by administrative and professional staff, increases the demand for measuring the information security threats in the healthcare industry. The complexity of the impact of new healthcare information and communications technology (ICT) devices increases pressure on the healthcare community to innovate novel information systems (IS) to deal with security threats emerging through their different IS management models. A semi-structured open interview study was conducted with 60 healthcare employees in three large hospitals in UAE-Dubai. The research aimed to identify the healthcare community's perceptions towards hospital information security on the following issues: definition of information security; perception of information security threats; knowledge of information security management; and perception of information security in the context of another healthcare community. The findings and implications of the study discussed through confidentiality, integrity, and availability (CIA) security model.
