Description: The past decade has seen increasing concern with demonstrating effectiveness and efficiency as well as value for money. As research methodologies have grown more sophisticated and adapted to real world situations, so some forms of intervention emerge as being better evidence-based than others. The reality is that different presenting problems improve with differing treatments. Failure to keep up with new developments can result in costly human resources being tied to ineffective treatments, thereby depriving families of the best help.
