Cetirizine Combined with Tranilast to Treat Chronic Urticaria

Objective To observe the efficacy of cetirizine combined with tranilast in the treatment on chronic urticaria. Methods Patients were randomly divided into treatment group (48 cases),and 32 cases in the control group,the treatment group orally took cetirizine 10mg,1 times/d and tranilast 0.1g,3 times / d; the control group only cetirizine 10mg,1/d; 4 weeks after,the evaluation of the efficacy and drug withdrawal,follow-up recurrence of the situation was carried out after 4 weeks. Results After 4 weeks,effective in the treatment group (75.00%)was significantly higher than that (50.00%)in control group(χ2=5.27,P0.05),the rate of relapse in control group(55.56%) was significantly higher than that(22.73%) in the treatment group. Conclusion Cetirizine combined with tranilast treatment on chronic urticaria have a more satisfactory effect,and can significantly reduce relapse,more effective than using separate cetirizine treatment.
