DEEP VEIN THROMBOSIS OF UPPER EXTREMITY AND PRIMARY LUNG CARCINOMA

2013
Venous thromboembolism (VTE) commonly results from lower extremity deep veins but rarely results from upper extremity deep veins thrombosis (1-4% of all DVT). Patients without any know malignancies may be presented with VTE (DVT or/and PTE). Approximately 30% of patients idiopathic with VTE are associated with cancer. In patient with VTE probability malignancy should be excluded, especially in presence upper extremity DVT. In this report primary lung cancer was diagnosed from a case with upper extremity DVT.
