Prostota, jakość i widoczność jako kluczowe czynniki budowy systemu SINUS

Universities and research institutes in Poland use digital libraries, repositories, bibliographic databases or Current Research Information Systems to promote and provide access to their scientific research output. In this respect, one of the growing trends is an attempt at consolidation of solutions and launching of an integrated environment for the promotion of scientific resources. In this context, in 2015, Poznan Supercomputing and Networking Center started cooperation with the Library of Poznan University of Technology to optimise the process of managing the scientific research output of Poznan University of Technology. The envisioned solution was to replace the legacy systems operating in the library, provide comprehensive information for end users, automate the work of collecting and sharing resources and support flexible data export. An in-depth analysis of existing software solutions was carried out and, as a result, a new system tailored to the needs of the Library of Poznan University of Technology was designed. It is worth mentioning that the system design and development works aimed at providing a system that is both easy to use and has built-in features designed for improving and ensuring the quality of provided data as well as a system that is highly visible for internet search engines. After four years of working on the SINUS system we believe that a detailed needs analysis, flexible solutions as well as the simplicity, quality and visibility of scientific publications are the key factors behind successful implementation of comprehensive solutions for promotion and access to university research output.
