Evaluation of the Choice and Partnership Approach (CAPA) in child and adolescent mental health services in England

2009
This report is based on an evaluation of CAPA, which is a clinical system used in the UK and internationally. CAPA aims to provide services to young people that are user-friendly, designed around their needs, accessible, safe and effective. The system uses quality parameters combined with processes to facilitate pathways through the service, attempting to avoid unnecessary waits. In doing so, it attempts to place the needs of families at the centre of CAMHS. There is a shift in clinician stance from ‘expert with power’ to ‘facilitator with expertise’.
