Significance of Nanotechnology for Sensing, Estimation, Degradation, and Formulation of Agrochemicals

2018
Abstract The application of nanotechnology in various research areas has also developed interest in its application in agriculture. Agricultural nanotechnology has proved to be a successful candidate for solving different agricultural problems. Such technologies include controlled release, target-specific nanoformulations that leave no residues, nanoparticles or nanocomposites for pesticide degradation and decontamination of food commodities, nanofertilizers as plant health supplements, and sensors for the estimation of water and soil pollutants. This article covers the recent progress in the development of agricultural nanotechnology for the formulation, analysis, degradation, and decontamination of agrochemicals. This review also focuses on the toxicity of agricultural nanotechnology to plants and the ecosystem.
