Perineal approach for the excision of an ischiorectal lipoma – video vignette

: Tumours arising in the ischiorectal fossa are rare and little reported in the literature (1-3). Anecdotally, a perineal approach should lead to a controlled, complete resection (4,5). It also lends itself to effective locoregional anesthesia and good postoperative pain control whilst avoiding the complications associated with complex pelvic surgery via any abdominal approach (4-7).
