Dermatophytosis, Parasitosis, Mycobacteriosis Therapy/Experimental Results

1988
In recent years the topical use of pharmacological agents has become of increasing interest in the treatment of skin diseases both from a pharmacological and from a toxicological point of view. The extent and velocity with which an externally applied drug penetrates the skin depends on three constituents — skin, drug and vehicle — which together control the penetration of the drug into the deeper layers of the skin. Therefore we investigated the influence of two different vehicles on the in vitro penetration of the antimycotic drug ketoconazole in excised full thickness human skin by means of autoradiography.
