Effect of mobile phone micromessage (WeChat) group on the treatment and prognosis of acute myocardial infarction in primary hospitals

Objective To discuss the effect of WeChat group on first-aid treatment and prognosis in acute ST segment elevation myocardial infarction (STEMI) in primary hospitals. Methods The mobile phone WeChat STEMI group was established in 2014 in Jiangyin City, Jiangsu Province included the city′s 50 community health care centers and hospitals with nearly two hundred physicians.The informations of STEMI patients were uploaded to the first aid groups of people′s hospital of Jiangyin City at the first time.The time of visit-balloon, door-to-balloon time, the median length of hospital stay, heart function and survival condition of patients during hospitalization were compared with the data before and after the WeChat group established. Results One hundred and ninety STEMI patients were included in 2014.Of which 172 accepted primary percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI) and 4 patients treated with thrombolytic therapy.Fourteen STEMI patients refused to primary PCI or thrombolytic therapy.One hundred and seventy-eight STEMI patients were admitted in 2013, of which 154 accepted primary PCI, four with thrombolytic therapy and twenty patients refused to primary PCI or thrombolytic therapy.The time of visit-balloon, door-to-balloon time, median length of hospital stay were significantly shortened after the WeChat group established (P=0.045). Twenty two cases in 2013 and 12 cases in 2014 occurred cardiovascular events (P=0.045). Conclusions The mobile phone WeChat group can improve early diagnosis, reperfusion therapy and prognosis of STEMI patients.The method for the treatment of patients with AMI provides a new model.
