The effect of wheat proteins on rat behaviour and the effect of naloxone hydrochloride on this response

1981
When wheat proteins are fed to rats, a different form of behaviour pattern is observed by computer studies to that of unfed rats. The animals show a higher response output. After an injection of naloxone hydrochloride, this enhanced pattern is cancelled out suggesting that naloxone inhibits this behaviour pattern. It is suggested that a blocking effect takes place at either intestinal or brain receptor sites.
