Das Restless-legs-Syndrom (RLS) - Erfahrungsbericht mit einem Vitex agnus-castus (VAC)-Extrakt

The restless legs syndrome. First experiences with an extract from VITEX AGNUS-CASTUS Ethanolic extracts from the fruits of VITEX AGNUS-CASTUS (VAC) act as a mixed D 2 /D 3 receptor agonist. Dopamine agonists are first line therapy for restless legs syndrome (RLS). In a small group of patients (n = 12) suffering from RLS a standardized VAC extract was tested as a dopamine agonist derived from plants for the first time. The outcome is promising and further clinical trials should be stimulated.
