Effect analysis of minimal incisional fenestration laminectomy for the treatment of lumbar disc herniation

Objective To evaluate the therapeutic effects and indication of minimal incisional fenestration laminectomy. Methods From October 2002 to October 2006, 36 cases of lumbar disc herniation had undergone the operation with this method. All of the patients complained with lumbago and singnal or bilateral lower limbs pain and palsy. Results 32 cases had been followed up for 5~30 months averaging 14 months. According to Nakai scales score, the excellent and good rate was 87.5%. Conclusion Minimal incisional fenestration laminectomy is of more widely indications, less operative time, less blood loss, minimaldisruption, higher curalitiness, less late complications, less damage to spinalstability. The method is one of the effective and realiable method to the treatments of lumbar disc herniation.
