Post-accident Haematoma

The CT scan on the next page shows a brain haematoma which occurred after an accident. A haematoma can be compared with a severe bruise or black eye, only it occurs inside the brain tissue. If the skull experiences great trauma, for instance due to a road accident, the brain may be severely damaged.
