The rapid evaluation of patients in an emergency department requires a prompt availability of nuclear medicine staffing and radiopharmacy. This is the most important limitation. However, the introduction of hybrid technology and changes in imaging protocols are making nuclear medicine a more and more attractive and efficient way of providing functional diagnostic information.
