Particle-hole folded-diagram calculation of the hypernucleus {sub {Lambda}}{sup 16}O using meson-exchange interactions

1999
The {sub {Lambda}}{sup 16}O hypernucleus is investigated by way of a folded-diagram method. The input {ital G}-matrix elements are calculated accurately from the J{umlt u}lich-{ital {tilde B}} and the Nijmegen realistic hyperon-nucleon potentials with the Pauli exclusion operator properly treated in the finite hypernuclear system. The effect of hyperon-nucleon-nucleon three-body forces is included through the consideration of core polarization diagrams. Although our predicted energy spectrum of the hypernucleus is in good agreement with experiments in general, there are significant differences between the J{sup +} energy levels obtained from these two realistic potentials. A folded-diagram calculation for the {Lambda} single-particle energy has been performed. The spin-dependence parameters of Millener {ital et al.} calculated from the J{umlt u}lich-{tilde B} and Nijmegen potentials are significantly different from each other, and the contribution from the {Lambda}{minus}{Sigma} three-body force to these parameters is important. {copyright} {ital 1999} {ital The American Physical Society}
