And acrylate copolymers obtainable therefrom PSAs for the bonding of low-energy surfaces as well as their use

2002
Acrylate copolymer for use in [PSAs] pressure-sensitive adhesive solutions, particularly suitable for the bonding of low-energy surfaces, the acrylate copolymer is obtainable by free radical solution polymerization of a monomer mixture having the monomer composition described below: A) 60 to 95 wt .-% of one or more monomers from the group of alkyl acrylates and alkyl methacrylates wherein the alkyl group comprises from 1 to 10 carbon atoms; B) 5 to 15 wt .-% of one or more monomers from the group of esters of (meth) acrylic acid with an Polyethylenglykoldervivat selected from the group consisting of polyethylene glycol derivatives having 2 to 4 ethylene glycol units, the said (meth) acrylate free of hydroxyl groups; C) 1 to 35 wt .-% of a mixture of at least two vinyl compounds selected from the group of vinyl compounds which contain one or more of the following functional groups: free carbonyl groups, free carboxyl groups, groups having one or more active hydrogen atoms.
