Behavioral analysis model for sharing knowledge in virtual groups

2013
This research aims to develop and validate a model to predict the behavior of students to share their knowledge when performing collaborative activities through the Internet. This studio integrates the Social Cognitive Theory and the Social Capital Theory to construct the proposed model. Establishing the causal relationships between the variables considered which affect the knowledge sharing behavior, so this research is distinguished as correlational research. The target population for the experiment was the students of a subject from the Faculty of Engineering. The proposed research model was evaluated with structural equation modeling (PLS Graph). The results revealed that most of the proposed hypotheses are supported, about that, interpersonal factors (trust and cohesion), perceived ease of use and perceived usefulness, directly influence the knowledge sharing behavior, while values, organizational factors and technological factors are variables that influence indirectly. The predictability of the proposed model was found to be 61%. Keywords: Collaborative learning, structural equations model, sharing knowledge, virtual groups;
