Application of bipolar radiofrequency device on hepatic tumor resection

2015
Objective To investigate the application value and safety of bipolar radiofrequency device in hepatic neoplasms resection. Methods Clinical data of 20 patients with hepatic neoplasms underwent hepatectomy with the use of bipolar radiofrequency device in our hospital from Feb.2012 to Feb.2014 were retrospectively analyzed. There were 8 males and 12 females with a mean age of(51±11) years old.Fourteen cases were with primary liver cancer and 4 cases were with secondary liver cancer and 2 cases were hemangioma. The operation duration, intraoperative bleeding, blood transfusion, length of postoperative hospital stay and complications were observed.Patients were followed up after being discharged from hospital and tumor recurrence were observed. Results All the 20 patients underwent hepatectomy successfully. The median of operation duration was [126(64~188)] min,The mean intraoperative bleeding was(210 ± 85) m L,the rate of blood transfusion was 0%,the length of postoperative hospital stay was(12 ± 3) d.One case of Intraabdominal encapsulated effusion,3 cases of moderate right pleural effusion, gradually recovered by actively absorbed after symptomatic treatment. Conclusion Bipolar radiofrequency device is safe and effective for hepatic resection, which is worthy of clinical selective application.
