Relationship between acute carotid atherothrombotic cerebral infarction and insulin resistance

Objective To evaluate the effects of insulin resistance(IR)in acute carotid atherothrombotic cerebral infarction and the relationship between them.Methods 84 patients diagnosed with acute cerebral infarction were chosen,being divided with carotid atherosclerosis(CAS)and 40 without CAS.Compared the differences of FPG,HOMA-IR et al.in acute cerebral infarction with and without CAS,and the relationship with CAS.Results There were significant differences in FPG,HNS,HOMA-IR,ISI,FIB,TC,TG,LDL,UA between acute carotid atherothrombotic cerebral infarction and that of without CAS(P<0.01 or P<0.05).LDL,HOMA-IR,FINS and TG are the risk factors of acute carotid atherothrombotic cerebral infarction.Conclusion IR is one of the risk factors of acute carotid atherothrombotic cerebral infarction.
