Meningoencefalocele Basal: Tratamento e complicações. Revisão de literatura

Encephalocele is a malformation consisting in herniation of the intracranial content through of a defect of skull convexity or base. This content can have brain tissue, neurovascular structures, cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) and meninges. It can be congenital or acquired. The subgroup basal meningoencephalocele is a rare condition which can be present as seizures, CSF leak, meningitis and nasal mass. The treatment can be performed extracranial or intracranial (microsurgery and/or endoscopic).
