Seepage Deformation Analysis of Deep Overburden in a Hydropower Station in Gansu Province

In this paper,different methods are adopted to judge the seepage deformation pattern,critical gradient and allowed slope gradient of dam foundation overburden for a hydropower station in Gansu Province.The seepage fields of dam foundation are calculated by using finite element method and its characteristics of seepage deformation are analyzed.The results show that the seepage distortion may occur in the dam foundation overburden under the seepage condition with reservoir normal storage.At the same time,some corresponding preventive measures are proposed,which provides reference for dealing with seepage deformation in hydropower project by using the method of deep overburden.
