Health examinations and immunization regimens are required for individuals wishing to live in the United States. Many immigrants and refugees are exposed to communicable diseases not routinely encountered in the United States These include helminthic infections, tuberculosis, malaria, and other infections. Zoonotic infections, such as influenza A, and novel coronavirus infections also are of increasing concern because of population mobility.
