SIGMA/GRANAT deep survey of the Galactic Center region status report

The Galactic Center (GC) region has now been monitored in hard X‐rays and soft γ‐rays by the SIGMA/GRANAT telescope for more than 1000 hours of effective time. In this paper, we present a preliminary analysis of the sky images derived from the data recorded since the beginning of the mission. The 35‐75 keV summed image reveals the presence of eight sources of hard X‐rays, including two newly discovered sources. On a shorter timescale, five other transient sources have already been detected.
